Umm... Jerry Crosswalk's sign has been... broken? And now you need to collect the white stripes to put it back together, or something. But there are plenty of dangers out there, raging traffic lights, danger signs, and so much more. (The "much more" is sarcasm, I've already described everything in the game, I just have to add more text to make this description passable.)
